Fellow (Retired)

Individuals who have retired from practice may apply for fellowship if they meet the requisite experience requirements. Retirement is defined as no longer providing patient care AND having a lapsed or expired license to practice.

Individuals who are retired from practice and are elected to the fellowship are exempt from paying the annual membership fee but must still pay the same first-year membership and fellowship application fee. Once elected as a Fellow (Retired), the annual membership will be converted to a lifetime membership at no additional charge.

Retired fellows are entitled to the same rights and privileges as regular fellows and may display the FAOM post-nominals for life so long as they remain in good standing.

To apply as a Fellow (Retired), please email us at [email protected].

Fellows who subsequently retire from practice may convert their annual membership to a lifetime membership once their license enters a lapsed or expired status.
